Software Upgrade Release Forthcoming
Isensix is excited to announce the release of a software upgrade for both our Guardian and ARMS products. The upgrade was developed to replace all other previous prior releases due to obsolescence and retired operating systems. It boasts a new operating system and database that comes with many updated features and improved security. All existing versions running on prior releases will require an upgrade to this new version.
As with other technologies, it is vital to keep your Guardian system updated to ensure optimal functionality and security. Though it is possible for the old software to run, the program will become obsolete, potentially exposing your system to vulnerabilities and diminishing performance.
Some of the software’s new features include:
- Quick access to calibration reports & recent events, with graphs & tables that show alarms
- Expanded report features such as zone notes and saving as PDF/CSV
- Increased viewable user information, like access permissions
- Ability to apply one message to numerous events, from a template if desired
- Preference tabs with customization options to see specific information
Please note! This upgraded software remains fully compatible with both ARMS and Guardian hardware.
Due to the change to a new operating system and database, a new server, virtual or physical, will be required. Customers with a physical server may consider switching to a virtual machine set-up, rather than maintaining hardware on-site. With a Guardian 2.1 virtual machine, the Isensix team can upgrade software as part of our annual service agreement without any associated hardware upgrade costs. Customers with a Guardian 2.1 physical server or other software version can contact their Sales Representative for details and a quote on the upgrade.
In its final stages of testing, the new software will also support upcoming hardware enhancements from Isensix, as well as the WiFi device from our sister company, SensoScientific.
